The Shell pension funds want to be frontrunners in the field of pensions and managerial ability. To improve and maintain the skills of those involved in Stichting Shell Pensioenfonds (SSPF), Shell Nederland Pensioenfonds Stichting (SNPS) and Shell Pensioenbureau Nederland (SPN) the “SPN Academy” is used. The SPN Academy offers a mix of learning tools promoting ability within SSPF and SNPS, using web-based support. . In addition to formal courses the Academy offers a broad range of knowledge and information about everything that SSPF, SNPS and SPN deal with.

The Academy supports the ability policy from intake, moving on to exit and offers development opportunities to (prospective) Board members, (prospective) members of the Accountability Council, and SPN staff.

SPO will provide the entire annual professional skills development programme for the specified target groups. A pro-active approach ensures efficient administration and optimal results. At the same time, this partnership guarantees the Academy’s ongoing operations well. SPN remains responsible for promoting ability within SSPF and SNPS.

SPN is responsible for the everyday management of the pension funds and supports and advises the boards on governance, actuarial matters, asset- and risk management and pensions policy.
