As from your retirement date you will receive a retirement pension. This pension is calculated using
Your pension base salary
This is the salary that forms the basis for the calculation of your pension. The basis is 12 times your monthly salary plus the lump-sum payments in April and/or December. If you receive a pensionable supplement it is factored into your pension basis. A shift work supplement may, for example, be a pensionable supplement.
The pension base salary on which pension is accrued is maximised. If your pensionable salary exceeds the permissible fiscal limit you may participate in the Shell Net pension scheme.
The increase of accrued entitlements
Pension accrued in the past is adjusted annually based on increases in salary scales at Shell Nederland.
Your retirement date
Your retirement date is the last day of the month in which your 67th birthday falls. You may retire earlier, but not before the last day of the month in which your 55th birthday falls.
If you retire early, you will have accrued fewer pension years. Furthermore, the accrued pension entitlements have to be distributed over a larger number of years. Consequently your annual pension will be lower.
In consultation with your employer, you can continue working after your 67th birthday – until no later than the last day of the month in which your 70th birthday falls - and hence postpone the commencement date of your retirement. In that case your pension will be higher.
